SANITARY PADS AND TAMPONS AT THE HEART OF THE CONTROVERSIES
In 2015, following a research lead by the Universidad de la Plata (Argentina),
scientists concluded that sanitary pads and tampons were composed of 85% of glyphosate. It is a powerful weed killer classified as a “probable carcinogen” by the WHO.
Furthermore, tampons have several times been the source of a rare and serious disease called Toxic Shock Syndrome. This ecological and sanitary scandal pushed the association 60 Millions de Consommateurs (60 millions consumers) to recently publish the first list of raw materials that are likely used in the manufacturing of tampons and sanitary pads.
Misscup menstrual cup was created within this context of protection of women’s intimate hygiene and health. It is the only natural solution to traditional sanitary protection.
